This is a contemplative practice that offers the depth of a yoga practice supported by three transformative components; postures (asanas) breathing practices (pranayama), and meditation. These ancient tools offer a pathway to awakening one’s inner core while expanding one’s unique intuition and wisdom of the self. This process helps free up energy within and even creates new energy to support ones life.

Yoga Off the Mat (2020-2022)
Over the past several years, I have moved my practice away from having weekly classes to taking yoga off the mat and bringing it into my everyday life. I hope to carry the essence of yoga into community involvement, helping build community and working with others. Thus, my schedule is not as detailed on the mat, but it has more depth when I include my full life activities.
Started studying under the direction of Richard Faulds in fall of 2021. He's given name is Shobhon and he has 43 years of history with Yoga. Was at the Kriaplu ashram and it's beginning 45 years ago, became the CEO, and has written six books. He is a gifted teacher, writer, and student of all eight limbs of Yoga.
Kids' Food Basket
Did you know that there's both a great deal of prosperity and a great deal of poverty all within Allegan County? The organization Kids' Food Basket has built a facility that will allow the community of Allegan County to respond to children impacted by hunger. They have a proven track record in Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and Ottawa County. The new facility will allow their volunteers to store future food, prepare food, pack food for sack suppers, and then deliver sack suppers to schools in the afternoons. This would allow hungry children to have a supper 5 evenings a week during the school year.
Our group of community members helped build a volunteer base and raised funds to help and support Kids' Food Basket and their program that is feeding over 9,000 children each day in southwestern Michigan.
Saugatuck and Douglas Rotary Club
I'm the original founder 14 years ago and recently helped rebrand and rebuild this club to be a catalyst in the community.
As chair of membership committee. Helped our team to build awareness of the mission and fill specific job descriptions to give volunteers meaning and purpose as a member.
Helping preserve our planet for the next generation.
There is a great amount of work to be done to change humanity's direction so that our home - this wonderful hunk of rock called Earth - can sustain us for generations to come.
The world is an imperfect place and will remain that way, and I cannot change this. However I can take this as an opportunity to take action locally and make my impact
Thus, I follow the Sierra Club and support their direction for sustaining the world we live in. I also have lobbied in Lansing, made donations, sent letters and emails to government leaders, and protested in Washington, DC, with my niece Sarah Shoemaker. I am willing to do what it takes as one living member of this world to make improvements.

The Yoga Expansion (2010-2018)
Assisted Teaching at Kripalu Yoga and Health Center
I had the privilege of supporting the lead teacher in classes like our Ayurveda and Immune System, meditation and breath work, advanced breath work. One summer I lived on campus for 30 days helping teach and certify 60 new yoga students.
Kirpalu Yoga in the Schools
Over a three-year period brought Kripalu Yoga in the Schools to Saugatuck high school. Helped Ms. Austin become a certified yoga teacher so that she now teaches this curriculum every year in the schools.
Personal Yoga Broadening
Diving deeper to develop my personal practice… In my morning sadhana moving away from asana development and deepening meditation, and breath work.
Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training 500 hour certification Mod 2 Lenox Mass. Advanced Asana and Pranayama Training. Module 4 Lenox, Massachusetts. Teaching special needs students Sudha was my teacher.
